May 2010 Update 06.01.10 To all Alumni and Friends of X-Men Football      I am happy to report that the remainder of the recruiting season has gone very well here at StFX. Please see our new list of commits below, adding to what is shaping up to be a very exciting class.      We recently held our annual Captain's Ball here in town. It was a great night of reflection on our 2009 season, and our awards were handed out to many deserving players. The winners were Reilly Penner (Most Improved Player), Tom Narbaitz (Joe Stewart Rookie of the Year Award), Anthony Alix (Special Teams Player of the Year), Dave Skillen and Yahia Dalloul (Johnny Pike Most Dedicated Award), Christian Oberegger (Phil Hughes Lineman of the Year Award), Akeem Foster (Offensive MVP), Henoc Muamba (Defensive MVP), Tom Lynch (Mackinnon Award), and Steve Snyder (Don Loney Award). We also awarded Neil Greene with the Community Service Award for all of his support throughout the year. We also used this night to thank the Seniors who will be moving on after this year, a quality group of individuals who have given so much of themselves to this program.      The end of the school year meant it was time for our Spring Camp here in Antigonish. The camp went very well this year, as the weather cooperated and our brand new Field Turf field proved to be a great surface for us to put some work in. Many of our returning players impressed us during this camp, which was a great opportunity for them to show their improvement after the hard work they've put in during the offseason. We got through the camp with no major injuries, and overall it was a great success.      The annual East West All Star game was recently held in London, Ontario, and the X-Men were very well represented. LB Henoc Muamba was named as one of the Captain's of the East team, and had a strong showing throughout the week in testing, at practice, and in the game. Offensive Lineman Stu Walsh also had a great week and impressed many CFL Scouts. Defensive Back Reilly Penner was also voted to play in the game, but was forced to sit out because of an injury.
